Bonjou was created by Samantha Wharton, a lifelong beauty fan on the hunt for products that blended convenience and effectiveness with clean ingredients and ethical sourcing. The brand offers clean, cruelty-free makeup and skincare certified organic by the USDA and certified by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
All of Bonjou’s products are cruelty-free, gluten-free, sulphite-free, non-comedogenic, and suitable for all skin types. Their line is also free of 15-plus toxins, including polyethylene glycols (PEG compounds), parabens, formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers, fragrances, talc, PFTEs (Teflon, polytetrafluoroethylene, ethene, tetrafluoro, homopolymer), and phthalates (synthetic dyes).
Bonjou’s makeup products—made in small batches in Toronto with natural, local ingredients—can be used in several ways, from foundation sticks that double as concealer to a 3-in-1 multi-purpose colour stick that works on cheeks, eyes and lips.
Meanwhile, Wharton worked closely with chemists in Toronto to formulate the brand’s skincare products, which are COSMOS- and USDA-certified organic, spa-grade, and made in small batches on a certified USDA organic farm in Muskoka, Ontario.
