My best DIY gift idea has 4 gifts in 1

Since the holidays are approaching, it's the perfect time to post my best DIY gift idea. Even if you've already bought a gift, you may want to add something personally made by you.

I used to be the Queen of the DIY gift. Time became an issue, and I started buying gifts. But I'm back to carving out some time to make things again because they're so personal, and buying gifts is getting more costly. Some homemade ideas are easy to make and take very little time.

Give the gift of soft skin with a homemade skin care product basket!

Homemade skin care product basket

This gift is all-natural, quick, and easy to make! The basket includes:

  • 1 small to medium-sized gift basket or eco-friendly box
  • Ribbon
  • Tissue paper
  • Biodegradable cellophane paper (This link is to Etsy’s selection if you’re using a gift basket)
  • 4 x 250ml clear jars
  • 4 labels for the jars
  • A marker to write on the labels

Bath oil

  • 250ml coconut milk, 4 tablespoons of almond oil, and eight sprigs of fresh mint, blended until smooth.
  • Instruction to put on the label: Add one to two tablespoons of the mixture to your bath water before getting into the water.

Body scrub

  • Mix a cup of white or brown sugar with enough olive oil to make it into a paste.
  • Instruction to put on the label: Apply a quarter-sized amount to a loofah or sponge and gently massage it into your skin. Rinse it off.

Face mask

If you know her skin type, choose the right one from the lists below. If you don't, go with either the anti-aging one or for normal skin.

  • For acne or discolouration: Make a lemon and honey mask. Cut 10 lemons in half, squeeze the juice, and add 10 teaspoons of honey.
  • For oily skin: Blend 3 fully ripe bananas, 3 tablespoons of honey and juice from 3 oranges or lemons.
  • For dry skin and anti-aging: Blend 3 ripe avocados, 6 tablespoons of honey and 3 teaspoons of coconut oil.
  • For combination skin: Blend 3 ripe bananas, 3 tablespoons honey and 3 tablespoons of oatmeal.
  • For normal skin: Blend 3 apples and 6 tablespoons of honey.
  • Instruction to put on the label: Apply a quarter-sized amount to your face and neck, gently massaging it into your skin. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, and then rinse it off.

Hair mask

  • Olive oil and coconut oil for double hydration! Mix one-fourth cup of olive oil with one tablespoon of coconut oil.
  • Instruction to put on the label: Apply as much as you need to your hair from top root to tip and leave on for 20 minutes to overnight. Wash it out with lukewarm water. Heat the mixture on medium heat until warm (not hot) for best results.

  • Add names and instructions to the labels.
  • Add the labels to the jars.
  • Make your products.
  • Fill the jars.
  • Decorate the inside of the basket with tissue paper and place your jars inside.
  • Wrap it with cellophane and tie a ribbon around the basket.
